Brussels sprouts with bacon

  • 200g Brussels sprouts
  • 100g bacon
  • 200g chestnuts
  • 20g butter

In a large pan add 2.5 litres of water together with a spoon of salt and let it boil. Blanche the sprouts for 3 minutes, get them out and place in ice water for stopping the cooking process. Cut the sprouts in half and let them dry on towel paper.

Meantime score the chestnuts and place them in a tray. Put them in the preheated oven (180C degrees) and let them until soft. Get them out and peel them.

In a pan add the butter and let it turn a little bit brown on a medium heat.. Cut the bacon into small pieces and place it inside the pan. Fry it for 3-5 minutes until crispy. Add the sprouts and chestnuts and let them cook for 3-5 minutes more. Stop the heat and season with salt and pepper.
